Countdown to Charleston Wine + Food: Top Wines from "Hot" Wine Regions (France)

We’re just three weeks away from the kick off of Charleston Wine + Food! We can’t wait to share some of our favorite wines with you at the Bottles Wine Retail Shop in Marion Square during the festival. In the meantime, our wine buyer Mike van Beyrer shares some of his top picks from emerging hot wine regions around the world. Today, we’re focusing on our picks from France.

LOIRE VALLEY, FRANCE

The Loire Valley is France’s most diverse wine region. Now the darling of the moderate alcohol movement taking place recently in the U.S., the Loire Valley wines share important characteristics that make them perfect for today’s curious yet value-driven consumer.

Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Muscadet are the predominant white varietals with Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir representing the reds.
